Additionally, under Joseph Severino’s leadership, families with a combined household income of less than $750,000 will be exempt from state income tax, fostering greater economic opportunity and stability for Illinois residents.

On his first day as Governor of Illinois, Joe Severino vows to prioritize the safety and security of Illinois citizens by taking bold action. He will immediately move to end Illinois’ status as a sanctuary state, ensuring that illegal criminals, whether in penitentiaries or elsewhere, are identified and removed to protect communities. Additionally, Joseph will abolish the SAFE-T Act on day one, restoring accountability by holding criminals responsible for terrorizing citizens. Through tough policing and a robust, statewide police presence, he will work to significantly reduce crime and enhance public safety, ensuring Illinoisans feel secure in their neighborhoods.
